ELLENSBURG, Wash. (Dec. 15) – The Central Washington University women's basketball team heads down California State Los Angeles and Cal Poly Pomona for a non-conference California swing.
The Wildcats take on the Golden Eagles of Cal State LA on Wednesday (Dec. 16). The Golden Eagles enter the week with a 3-4 record, including a 1-1 mark at home.
Chiara DiMarco leads the offense, averaging 16 points per game. Cal State LA is only averaging 68 points per game, while allowing nearly 73. Behind DiMarco is Bree Parsons with an average of 11.1 points per game. Parsons is the Golden Eagles' leading rebounder, averaging 5.4 boards per game.
Cal State LA is 1-1 in its last two games, pulling out an 88-74 victory over Humboldt State after dropping an 82-45 contest against Cal Poly Pomona.
The Cal Poly Pomona Broncos are 4-5 on the season, including a 1-4 mark at home. Central Washington will head to Pomona for Saturday's (Dec. 19) game.
Jordyn Shane is averaging 14 points per game, a team high. Behind her is Mary Willilams with 10.8 points per game. Leading the Broncos' rebounding effort is Priscilla Brooks. She has totaled 82 rebounds, averaging 9.2 per game. The Broncos have averaged 62.44 points per game, while allowing 62.89.
Cal Poly Pomona has won four of its last five games. The Broncos take on Cal State East Bay on Tuesday (Dec. 15) prior to meeting the Wildcats.
The Wildcats have won three of their last four games. Central is averaging just under 67 points per game, while allowing just 53.
Jasmine Parker leads the Wildcats' scoring effort, averaging 11.6 points per game.
Jasmin Edwards follows closely behind, pulling in 11.4 point a game. Parker leads Central in rebounding with a team high 70 boards.
Alexis Berrysmith has a team high 16 offensive rebounds.
Mandy Steward leads the Wildcats from beyond the arc. The freshman is 13-for-30 on the season from three-point range. Overall, she is 26-for-52 from the field.
Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. against Cal State LA, while the game against Cal Poly Pomona is set to begin at 1 p.m.
