ELLENSBURG, Wash. (Aug. 31) – Five Central Washington University women's rugby players were named 2015 USA Rugby Women's Collegiate Rugby All-Americans Monday.

Having played in two national championship games in their first season as a varsity sport, it is no surprise that the Wildcat's landed the second-most players to the pool of 55 all-Americans released by usarugby.org.

Sophomore Cassidy Meyers and freshman Asinate Serevi were selected to the group of all-American backs that included 31 other athletes.

Joining Meyers and Serevi are forwards Haley Shafer, Suliana Tausinga, and Angela Ve'evalu.

All five players will be returning next year, as the team lost just two seniors this past season.

The only other team with more all-American selections was Penn State who defeated the Wildcats in both the 15's and 7's National Championship matches.
