ELLENSBURG, Wash. – All 11 Central Washington University men's basketball players scored as the Wildcats raced past Langara College 100-63 Saturday afternoon in Nicholson Pavilion.
The Wildcats improved to 6-2 on the season while Langara falls to 5-2.
Dom Hunter led all scorers with 31 points on 11 of 18 shooting, including 9 of 12 from three point. His nine three pointers set a new school record for three pointers made in a single game. Four other players in school history has eight three pointers made, most recently Colton Monti against Alaska Anchorage during the 2008-09 season.
Hunter scored 22 of his points in the first half, making his first seven shots from behind the arc. The senior stuffed the stat sheet with six rebounds and six assists. Hunter has scored 20 or more points in all eight games this season.
Junior center
Jerome Bryant set a new career high with 14 points missing just one of his seven shot attempts and pulled down four rebounds.
Naim Ladd added 12 points, and
Jawan Stepney and
Marc Rodgers rounded out the double-figure scorers with 10 each. Rodgers also added five assists and a career-high six steals.
Fuquan Niles led CWU in rebounds with 7 and rejected four shots on the night.
The Wildcats shot 49.3 percent from the field, including a 46.2 clip from long range, sinking 18 of 39 from trey.
Defensively the Wildcats held the Falcons to 33.3 percent shooting and forced 25 turnovers. Central scored 30 points of Langara turnovers, and had 18 fast break points.
Jamie Madewan led the Falcons with 27 points, making seven three pointers on the day. Center Grant Galbraith added 16 points and a team-high seven rebounds.
The Wildcats will get a much-deserved break from action to celebrate the holidays, returning Dec. 29 when they face Western Oregon in Monmouth, Ore. at 7 p.m.
