QUOTABLE
"I'm excited for our first road trip out to Colorado," CWU Head Coach
Randi Richardson-Thornley said. "We had a great week of practice in working on areas we felt needed improvement from last week's games and in preparation for two quality opponents in Mines and Metro. This will be a great opportunity for our kids to get away together, bond as a group, and be challenged in ways that will help us continue to grow for the rest of the season."
SCOUTING COLORADO MINES
The Orediggers open the week at 1-1 after falling in their season opener to the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith, then bouncing back for a win over Saint Edward's.
In two games they've been outscored by their opponents 114-104. Nicole Archambeau leads the scoring, averaging 10 points per game through the first week. Emily Bailey follows close behind, scoring nine points per game.
Archambeau also leads the Orediggers in rebounding, pulling in eight boards per game. Anna Kolmorgen heads up the second spot, averaging seven and a half rebounds.
SCOUTING METRO STATE DENVER
The Roadrunners opened the 2017-18 campaign with an 0-2 start. They lost a close battle to Texas A&M Commerce, 70-67, to open the season and then fell to Lubbock Christian 71-53.
Gorgia Ohrdorf led the Roadrunners with 16.5 points per game and six rebounds per game last week. She finished the first two games shooting 63.6 percent from the floor and five-for-seven from the charity stripe.
