The Central Washington University women's volleyball team (18-6, 13-3 GNAC) continues Great Northwest Athletic Conference play this week as they face No. 13 Northwest Nazarene University (22-2, 14-2 GNAC) and Montana State University Billings (8-18, 4-12 GNAC). The Wildcats will square off against the Nighthawks on Tuesday, Nov. 7 at 7 p.m. PST in Nampa, Idaho at the Johnson Sports Center. CWU's game against the Yellowjackets is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 11 in Nicholson Pavilion.

SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION
Northwest Nazarene
Northwest Nazarene enters this week ranked 13th in the AVCA Coaches poll and second in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference. The Nighthawks won both of their matchups last week against Saint Martin's (3-1) and Seattle Pacific (3-0) to improve to 22-2 overall and 14-2 in GNAC play. The Wildcats handed NNU one of their two losses this season in a five-set thriller on Oct. 10 in Nicholson Pavilion.

Kendra Bodine leads the Nighthawks' offense and ranks first in the conference with a 4.31 kills-per-set average, while Madi Farrell follows closely behind with 3.98. Farrell also ranks first in the conference with a .443 hitting percentage and third in blocks (1.39/set). Hailey Cook runs the offense, dishing out a GNAC-high 11.60 assists-per-set.

Montana State Billings
Montana State Billings split their games last week against Western Oregon and Concordia (Ore.). The Yellowjackets outlasted the Wolves in a five-set victory on Thursday, Nov. 2., before falling to the Cavaliers 2-3 on Saturday. Â MSUB has dropped nine of their last 11 matches against GNAC opponents, including being swept by the Wildcats on Oct. 12 in Billings.
Madi Vigil leads the Yellowjackets offensively, notching 3.24 kills-per-set. Kylee Clarke distributes 8.62 assists/set, while Alexa Smythe follows with 7.06. Clarke currently ranks fifth in the conference in assists. Defensively, MSUB is led by Izela Alvarez. Alvarez ranks first in the GNAC with 5.69 digs/set

The Wildcats have won eight of their last nine matches dating back to Oct. 7 against Seattle Pacific. The Wildcats captured a pair of Great Northwest Athletic Conference matches last week in sweeping fashion. Against Seattle Pacific University, junior
Shelby Mauritson totaled 14 kills and 14 digs for her 16th double-double of the season.
Maggie McTaggart added nine kills, while
Madison Weg posted seven. Saturday's victory over Saint Martin's University marked Central Washington's second sweep of the weekend and ninth of the season. The Wildcats improved to 18-6 overall, and 13-3 in Great Northwest Athletic Conference play.Â

The Wildcats hit the road again next week, taking on Simon Fraser University on Thursday, Nov. 16 in Burnaby, British Columbia. They will turn right around to face rival Western Washington University on Saturday, Nov. 18 in Bellingham, Wash.
