ELLENSBURG, Wash.- The Central Washington University women's volleyball team (10-4, 5-1 GNAC) earned a sweep (25-22, 25-18, 25-19) over the University of Alaska Anchorage Seawolves (9-6, 4-2 GNAC) Saturday evening in Nicholson Pavilion to extend their conference winning streak to five.
Â
"We did a really good job picking up loose shots and deflections," CWU head coach
Mario Andaya explained. "That is something we haven't really done in the past and our ability to convert on them was key. They were a little bit out of sorts, which allowed us to sit back and read them a little more than we have. When they did clean it up, I thought we did a good job of getting some key stops. Overall, it was a good night."
Â
This marks Central's second sweep over a GNAC opponent and their fifth of the season. CWU is now 18-24 all-time when facing the Seawolves.
