ELLENSBURG, Wash.- The Central Washington University track and field team will head to two different meets this Friday and Saturday, Jan. 12-13. Several Wildcats will travel to Moscow, Idaho to compete at the Vandal Invitational and Multi Events in the Kibbie-Asui Activity Center on the University of Idaho campus. The remaining CWU athletes will travel to Seattle for the UW Preview.

Assistant coach Brittany Aanstaad will take a small group of younger athletes to Idaho to compete in the pentathlon. This group will include freshmen
Sidney Trinidad, sophomores
Shaddia Meadows and
Erykah Weems, and junior
Katie Collins. The Vandal Invitational will begin today at 10:30 a.m. with the women's pentathlon 60-meter hurdles.

Highlighting the list of athletes headed to Seattle are senior
Kodiak Landis and sophomore
Ali Anderson. Landis and Anderson have already garnered conference recognition for their performances at the EWU Candy Cane Open earlier this season. Landis recorded a school-record performance for the men's team at Eastern Washington, breaking his own pole vault school record by two inches to claim the GNAC men's field athlete of the week award. Anderson earned the women's honor after earning first in the pentathlon. Anderson recorded a total of 3,480 points and won the 800-meter with a time of 2:19.18. A provisional qualifying mark, Anderson's performance also ranks first on the CWU all-time list in the event.
