ELLENSBURG, Wash.- The Central Washington University indoor track and field team returns to Seattle, Wash. this Friday and Saturday (Jan. 26-27) to compete at the UW Invitational. Hosted by the University of Washington, the meet will be held in the Dempsey indoor facility.
"I'm looking forward to taking our top-end group over to Seattle," head coach
Kevin Adkisson said. "It will definitely be some great experience for each of the athletes slated to compete. The UW track is usually pretty fast, so I'm hoping to get a few more provisional qualifiers."

The meet will kick off on Friday at 1 p.m. with the men's heptathlon. Competing in the heptathlon events for the Wildcats will be

Last Time Out
The Wildcats competed at the WSU Open last Saturday in Pullman, Wash. Highlighting the list of performances was Shindruk's 2nd-place finish in the 3,000 after recording a time of 10:23.21.

In the 400-meter,
Jasmyne Neria placed third overall with a time of 1:00.60, followed byÂ
Julia Inderbitzin in fifth (1:01.56) andÂ
Sidney Trinidad in sixth (1:01.80).

Samantha La Rue finished sixth in the shot put with a throw measuring 39 feet, 9.25 inches.

The 4x400-meter relay team consisting of Trinidad, Bland, Weems, and Anderson captured the event title with a time of 4:02.86. The men's team also came away with the event title after recording a time of 3:28.16.

Facility Info
The Dempsey indoor facility is a 307-meter Mondo track with a six lane straightaway, and a five-lane oval. For the field the Dempsey has two 160 ft. elevated long jump runways (132 ft. TJ) with Mondo overlay; two 150 ft. elevated pole vault runways with Mondo overlay; two 80 ft. right/left wooden high jump approach areas with Mondo overlay; two reinforced wooden throwing rings.
