SEATTLE, Wash. (Jan. 6) – Jasmin Edwards led the Wildcats' offense with 11 points, but the Central Washington University women's basketball team fell to Seattle Pacific University, 62-43.
The Wildcats are now 7-7 on the year with a 3-3 record in Great Northwest Athletic Conference games. The Falcons improve to 10-3 overall and 4-2 in GNAC games.
The Wildcats scored 24 points in the paint, while the bench chipped 16 points. They also scored 24 points in the paint.
Taylor Baird led the rebounding effort with nine of the Wildcats' 44 total rebounds.
The Falcons claimed a 33-13 lead at the half, but the Wildcats played a much closer second half.
In the final two periods Central outscored Seattle Pacific 30-29. Central held the Falcons to a shooting percentage of just 35.4, including just 55 percent from the free throw line.
The Wildcats are back in action on Tuesday, January 9, against Northwest Nazarene. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in Nampa, Idaho.
