FIRST SERVE
The Wildcats hit the road for the final time during the regular season as they travel to western Washington for matches against Seattle Pacific and Saint Martin's. Both games are scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start.
SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION
Seattle Pacific University
The Falcons have had a pedestrian 2018 season, going 10-11 with an 8-6 record in Great Northwest Athletic Conference play. The sit in the middle of the conference standings entering the final three weeks of the regular season.
The Wildcats beat the Falcons 3-1 on September 29 in Nicholson Pavilion. The contest featured close sets, with the Wildcats coming back from a 20-16 deficit in the final set to seal the match.
Madison Weg was crucial for the Wildcats, smashing home 17 kills while stuffing seven blocks.
Seattle Pacific finds themselves in the middle of the pack in most statistical categories. The team ranks fourth in blocking. They've stopped 187 attacks for an average of 2.34 per set. Shan Crespi leads the team with 99 blocks this year. Gabby Oddo ranks fifth in kills with 270 on the season. Symone Tran is a strong setter, averaging 9.93 assists per set.
Saint Martin's University
It's been a dismal season for the Saints in 2018. They're sporting a 3-17 record, 1-13 in GNAC play. The Saints are looking up at everyone else in the conference standings. Their only conference win came against Western Oregon on October 11 in five sets.
The Wildcats hosted the Saints on September 27, beating them in straight sets.
Makala Swart led all players with 15 kills. She racked up 14 digs on the defensive side of the court, adding up to a strong night for the Wildcats.
Despite struggling this season, the Saints are one of the best serving teams in the conference. They rank second in aces with 122, averaging 1.63 aces per set. Ililani Kamaka leads the team with 21 aces, seventh most in conference. Courtney Misner ranks fifth in digs with 359 on the year. Megan Vernoy is the team's best attacker, hammering 239 kills for an average of 3.19 per set, eight most in conference.
LAST TIME OUT
The Wildcats were triumphant in their return to Nicholson Pavilion, picking up two wins. The first came against Concordia (Ore) on Thursday. The Wildcats clawed the Cavaliers 3-1. On Saturday, the team made quick work of Western Oregon in straight sets.
Bridgette Webb was all-world for the Wildcats throughout the entire weekend. The junior out of Yakima, Washington had 22 kills, including 15 against Concordia. She averaged 3.1 kills per set on an incredible .486 hitting percentage. She added stellar work on the defensive side the net, coming up with 14 blocks, leading the team in both games.

"We're going down the stretch so it's critical we stay progressive in our improvement to get the best results we can," head coach
Mario Andaya said. "SPU and SMU pose different challenges so we will need to be very prepared to compete against these teams on the road."
NEXT TIME OUT
The Wildcats have a quick turn-around, with next week's action starting on Tuesday. They host Northwest Nazarene in a match set for 7:00 p.m. Then on Thursday, the Wildcats host Montana State University Billings. That match also starts at 7:00 p.m.
