ELLENSBURG, Wash.- The Central Washington University track and field team travels to California this Thursday through Sunday, April 19-21, where the team will split up to compete at the Long Beach State Invitational, Mt. SAC Relays, and Bryan Clay Invitational.

LAST WEEKEND
The Wildcats competed last Saturday at the Saint Martin's Jay Hammer Meet and Pelleuer Invitational, on the campus of Eastern Washington University.Â
Nicole Soleim won the 3,000-meter in Lacey after crossing the finish line with a personal-best time of 10:29.80. On the men's side,
Trevor Allen and Josh Boston finished first and second in the 3K with personal-best times of 8:50.23 and 8:50.70, respectively.Â
Kodiak Landis (100m),
Ali Anderson (400m),
Mariyah Vongsaveng (100m Hurdles), and
Katie Collins (400m Hurdles) all captured event titles at the Pelleuer Invitational.Â

WILDCATS IN THE POLLS
Ten Wildcats currently rank in the top-30 in their respective events. Senior
Kodiak Landis recorded a decathlon mark of 7,098 points at the Sam Adams Classic to rank fifth in the nation. True freshman
Braydon Maier (15th, 6,562 points) and junior
Michael Forster (16th, 6,491 points) are also ranked in the decathlon.

Landis also ranks 33rd in the pole vault after clearing a height of 15 feet, 5.75 inches earlier this season at the Sam Adams Classic.

In the steeplechase, the Wildcats are led by
Corbin Carlton who currently sits 21st nationally with a season-best time of 9:18.98.
Tyree Rutter is the Wildcat's top javelin thrower and is ranked 31st after throwing for a distance of 191 feet, 3 inches at the PLU Open.

The women's team is led by
HarLee Ortega, who ranks among the nation's elite in the heptathlon. Ortega ranks ninth with a season-best mark of 4,875 points recorded at the Sam Adams Classic.

Alexa Shindruk leads the CWU distance runners and ranks 11th in the 5,000-meter (17:00.79) and 26th in the 10K with a season-best time of 36:46.70.

Ali Anderson recorded the nation's 13th fastest time in the 400-meter hurdles (1:00.95) at the EOU Team Challenge.

Indoor All-American pole vaulter
Halle Irvine rests in 16
th-place national after clearing a height of 12 feet, 2.75 inches at the Pelluer Invitational. Â

Rounding out the list of ranked Wildcats is
Brooke Williams in the triple jump, who ranks 12
th in the event after recording a personal-best jump of 39 feet, 4 inches last week at the Pelluer Invitational.

The Wildcats will stay close to home next week as they travel to Bellingham, Wash. to compete at the WWU Vernacchia on Saturday, April 28.
