ELLENSBURG, Wash.- The Central Washington University softball team shut out Simon Fraser 13-0 in to capture game one but fell to the Clan 7-1 in game two to split the two-game set.

The Wildcats are now 26-13 on the season and 14-8 in Great Northwest Athletic Conference play, while the Clan stay exactly. 500 at 15-15, 11-11 GNAC.

Central scored early and often in the five-inning game-one matchup.Â
Katie Kastning drove in the first run of the game on a RBI single that plated
Savannah Egbert from third.Â
Jacie McDaniels kept the rally going with a two-rbi double and
Sydney Brown capped the four-run frame plating McDaniels on a single to left field.

The Wildcats added four more in the second inning on a two-run double by Kastning followed by a two-run homerun by
Julia Reuble, her second of the season.

After going scoreless in the third, the Wildcats added five more runs in the fourth inning with
Theresa Moyle,
Bethany Balucan and Reuble each driving in a run.

The Wildcats totaled 12 hits in the game, nine of which came from the trio of Egbert, Kastning, and Reuble who each went 3 for 3 in the contest. Egbert scored three times, while Kastning and Reuble had four and three RBIs, respectively.

Lexie Strasser earned her 16
th victory of the season in the three-hit complete game shutout. She used just 56 pitches and induced 11 ground outs.

In game two, the Wildcats' bats could not get the timely hit falling 1-7. The Wildcats had baserunners in all but one inning, but only managed to push a run around in the fourth inning on a McDaniels single.

The third inning for the Clan gave them all the separation they needed, scoring five runs in the frame on four hits and a CWU error.
