Men's Basketball Adds Federal Way's Marcus Austin to 2018 Class

ELLENSBURG, Wash. – Federal Way High School shooting guard Marcus Austin has signed a National Letter of Intent to play basketball at Central Washington University next season.

Austin spent the 2017-18 school year at Federal Way after spending three seasons at Seattle Academy.  Austin and the Eagles went 27-2 last season making it all the way to the Washington Interscholastic Athletic Association title game.

Austin was a second-team All-North Puget Sound League selection after proving to be one of the Eagles top shooters.  He scored 30 in the first half of a contest this season and sank seven threes in a game where his team recorded a record 19.

His first two high school seasons Austin Averaged over 13 points for the Seattle Academy and helped lead the Cardinals to a 31-11 overall record with a 20-4 mark within the Emerald League.

CWU Head Coach Brandon Rinta on Marcus Austin
"Marcus is a dynamic scoring guard that has the ability to play multiple positions on the floor.  He can shoot it and score off the bounce but has great vision and passing ability a well.  He played a big part in the successful season that Federal Way had this year and an impressive three-year career at Seattle Academy.  Marcus has performed at a high level in the classroom and on the court over the last four years and we are excited that he has chosen to continue his career here at Central."
