QUOTABLE
"It's a big week for us," CWU Head Coach Michael Farrand said.  "Steve [Ancheta] has his team playing really well.  They've scored in all but their first game this season and have come away with two close conference wins so far.  When you look at Simon Fraser and you see what Annie [Hamel] and her girls have done, they're another strong team.  They played a tight game last week against Western Washington.  They're solid defensively and any time you have to go up to Burnaby it's going to be a battle.  I thought we put together some good chances last week, a bit unlucky in a few sequences on offense.  Defensively, we need to be a bit tighter.  We are in the heart of our conference schedule now and you can't take any nights off in the GNAC."

SCOUTING WESTERN OREGON
The Wolves are 4-3-1 entering the week and hold a 2-1-0 mark in GNAC matches.  They have scored at least one goal in every game after their season opening 1-0 overtime loss to Cal State San Marcos.

Last week, Western Oregon swept their GNAC matches against Montana State Billings and Northwest Nazarene, both by 1-0 score lines.

Alyssa Tomasini leads the Wolves in points with six (2G-2A=6T), while Alexie Morris holds the clubhouse lead in goals (3).  Sydney Thomas is the third multi-goal scorer on the season for the Wolves, she has scored a pair of goals off the bench.

Alex Qualls has handled all eight games in goal for Western Oregon, posting a goals against average (GAA) of 1.20 with 31 saves.  She has amassed three clean sheets on the season, including two last week.

SCOUTING SIMON FRASER
Simon Fraser enters the week with a .500 record (3-3-0) overall and a 1-1-0 mark in conference play.  The Clan are 1-0-0 at Terry Fox Field.

In their last two matches, Simon Fraser is 1-1-0.  The Clan dispatched Western Oregon 4-1 two Saturday's ago, before dropping a tight 1-0 loss to No. 15 Western Oregon University.

Emma Pringle's team-high five goals paces the Simon Fraser attack.  She is backed by Jenna-lee Baxter and Katelyn Erhardsen, each of whom have scored three goals.  Baxter leads SFU in assists and points, tallying six assists and 12 points thus far in 2018.

Nicole Anderson and Mikayla Isobe have split time in goal.  Anderson has posted a GAA of 1.13, while Isobe holds a GAA of 2.57.

LAST TIME OUT
The Wildcats (1-4-3) dropped a 2-0 match to Seattle Pacific on Saturday.  Despite not being able to find a goal, the Wildcats put shots on frame against the Falcons.

Makinzie Packwood rang the crossbar in the 38th minute, while Lexsi Manning found the boots of teammates all match off of corners.  Chelsea Marozik fired a blast from range that Riley Travis parried.  Central fired nine shots, just three on frame.
