Men's Basketball Hosts Evergreen State

QUOTABLE
"This this past weekend it became very clear what we need to improve on as a team and this next game will give us an opportunity to take some steps in those areas," CWU Head Coach Brandon Rinta said.  "Evergreen State has a high scoring offense and we will need to be solid defensively to slow them down."
 
SCOUTING EVERGREEN STATE
The Geoducks are 2-1 on the season with a pair of wins at the Rose City Classic.  They defeated New Hope Christian College, 103-60, and Northwest Indian College, 83-52.  Their lone loss on the season came against Linfield College on Tuesday (Nov. 19), 95-82.
 
Gloire Biongo leads the Geoducks' scoring efforts, averaging 19.5 points per game over 19.5 minutes per game.  Biongo has not started in either of his appearances, but is 14-for-32 from the field and 10-for-14 at the charity stripe.
 
Elijah Fuller and LaBrandon Price are also averaging double digit scoring campaigns, at 15.3 and 12.7 points respectively.  Fuller is 15-for-26 from the field, converting his shots at a clip of 57.7 percent.  Price is just behind at 15-for-28, knocking down shots at 53.6 percent.  The Geoducks are averaging 89.23 points per game, while allowing just 69 points. 
 
Price leads the Geoducks' rebounding, hauling in 6.7 rebounds per game.  He has accumulated 20 rebounds thus far, just one more than Desmond Hudson.  Evergreen State has outrebounded opponents 39-31 on average. 
 
LAST TIME OUT
The Wildcats recorded a pair of victories in the Fairfield Inn Tournament in Nampa, Idaho last weekend.  Both games saw second half surges from the Wildcats for comeback wins. 
 
Xavier Smith recorded 23 points against Texas A&M Kingsville, a team high.  He paced CWU in their 83-72 victory.  Tariq Woody scored 17, while Matt Poquette tallied 11
 
Smith also led the Wildcats with 20 points against Colorado Christian, while Gamaun Boykin and Woody both recorded a dozen. 
 
CWU v EVERGREEN HISTORY
Central Washington has won both meetings between the Wildcats and Geoducks since 2012.  Both meetings came in Ellensburg.  The first meeting was on December 11, 2012, when the Wildcats defeated Evergreen State 100-59. 
 
In the second meeting, on November 21, 2018, Central recorded a 111-65 victory.  Jeryn Lucas led the Wildcats' offense with 16 points.  Matt Poquette chipped in 13, while Gamaun Boykin added 10.
