PORTLAND, Ore. (Feb. 18) – The Central Washington University baseball team (3-4-1) fell to Western Oregon University (1-0) in a non-conference game., 13-1.
The Wolves' offense wasted no time getting going, plating four in the bottom of the first. After a single from Jared McDonald, Connor McCord blasted a three-run shot.
Western Oregon added three more runs in the second inning. They scored at least one run in each of the first five innings, taking a 12-1 lead through five.
Central Washington's only run came in the top of the fifth inning.

Yi-an Pan, who led off with a single.
The Wildcats' bullpen did some heavy lifting, but managed to quell the onslaught after the fifth inning. They allowed just one run in the latter stages of the game.
Aaron Foust (0-2) got the start for the Crimson and Black. He struggled through three innings of work, allowing 10 hits, eight earned runs, and striking out a pair.
Colton Turner and
Yi-an Pan each threw 1.2 innings in relief, combining to allow just one unearned run.
Western Oregon's pitching staff fanned 17 hitters on the afternoon.
Central Washington is back in action this week with a midweek contest at Lewis-Clark State College.
