SCOUTING SEATTLE PACIFIC
The Falcons come into the game still in the hunt for the first place bid in the GNAC. Seattle Pacific comes into the game with a 17-6 overall record including a 14-4 mark in conference play.
Gavin Long comes into the game as the Falcons leading scorer averaging 13.0 points per game. He is shooting 56% from the field and 43.6% from behind the three-point line. In SPU's last game against Montana State Billings, Long had 20 points, 3 rebounds, and was 8-for9 from the free throw line. SPU went on to win that game by score of 76-67.
Nikhil Lizotte comes into the game playing in all 23 of the Falcons games and is the second leading score on the team. Last time out he chipped in 14 points while pulling down 4 rebounds and collecting 3 assists on the night. Lizotte is averaging 12.9 points per game.
Coleman Wooten leads the team in rebounds averaging 7.8 rebounds per game and is someone that Central is going to have to keep an eye on to minimize second chance opportunities.
In the first time out, the Falcons took the win by score of 97-82. Both Long and Nathan Streufert had 17 points in the game. Wooten pulled down a team high nine rebounds, two of which were offensive boards. The Falcons held the Wildcats to just 44% shooting from the field and 40% from behind the three-point line. SPU shot 64.3% from the field including 20 of 30 in the first half.
SCOUTING SAINT MARTIN'S
The Saints come into the week holding onto the number one spot in the GNAC standings. They hold a one game lead over second place Northwest Nazarene. Saint Martins has a 22-4 overall record including a 15-3 GNAC mark.
EJ Boyce leads the Saints in scoring averaging 13.2 points per game shooting 42% from the field and 82% from the free throw line. Last time the two teams met, Boyce had 18 points to go along with three assists. He shot 50% from the field and 50% from behind the arc.
Luke Chavez is the team's second leading scoring with a mark of 12.0 points per game including a 20-point game the last time he faced the Wildcats. Chavez also snagged three rebounds along with three steals in his 31 minutes of play.
The last time out the Saints snagged the win and held Central three-point shooting to just 27.8% to go along with the 58.8% (10 for 17) from the free throw line. Saint Martin's shot 47.4% from the field including going 50% from behind the three-point line in the second half. The team also out rebounded the Wildcats by way of 33 to 27.
LAST TIME OUT
The Wildcats traveled to Oregon last week to play both Concordia and Western Oregon in their last road trip of the season. Central grabbed a win in game number one of the week posting a 79-73 win over Concordia.
Jeryn Lucas contributed 19 points and 4 rebounds while going five of six from the free throw line.
Matt Poquette chipped in 15 points shooting six of nine from the field and grabbed four rebounds, one steal, and one block.
Gamaun Boykin was the only other Wildcat in double figures posting 13 points of his own shooting 100% from the field (5 of 5) and was 3 of 4 from the charity stripe.
Central dropped game two of the week losing by score of 77-62 to Western Oregon. Lucas lead the Wildcat offense yet again putting up 22 points in his 31 minutes of play.
Zellie Hudson was the only other player in double figures with 10 points on four of six shooting and two of four from the free throw line.
