Ellensburg, Wash. (Feb. 6) – The Central Washington University Athletic Department announced the CWU Football team's 2019 schedule on Wednesday.
The back-to-back GNAC champions will open their season on the road against the University of Idaho on September 7 before returning to Tomlinson Stadium for the home opener. The Wildcats host Ferris State on September 14 at 6:00 p.m.
Ferris State finished 2018 with a 15-1 record, including a perfect 8-0 in GLIAC play. The Bulldogs rolled through the playoffs with victories over Ouachita Baptist and Minnesota State. Ferris fell to National Champion Valdosta State in the NCAA National Championship game, 49-47.
On September 21, the Crimson and Black travel to New Mexico for a game against Western New Mexico University. Kick-off is slated for 12:00 p.m.
The Great Northwest Athletic Conference schedule opens with a game against Western Oregon. The Wildcats and the Wolves will do battle on September 28 inside Tomlinson Stadium. The Wildcats are in Oregon on October 19 as they face the Wolves for the second time.
The Wildcats are pitted for what could be pivotal game at West Texas A&M on October 5.
Azusa Pacific visits Tomlinson Stadium on October 12 for a 6:00 p.m. kick-off. The Wildcats travel California for the rematch on November 2.
Simon Fraser is in Ellensburg on October 26 for a 6:00 p.m. start. The Wildcats head to Burnaby, B.C. on November 16 for the final game of the regular season.
Senior Day falls on November 9, as the team takes on Southwest Baptist University. The 1:00 p.m. start is the only daytime start feature on the Tomlinson Stadium schedule.
