QUOTABLE
"This is a good chance for us to go out and see where we are," CWU Head Coach Desi Storey said.  "We've battled snow at home and rain on the road so far this year, so I'm sure our guys are excited to take the field and play."

SCOUTING ACADEMY OF ART
The Urban Knights have only played one game on the 2019 season, trouncing Simpson 14-6.  There were originally three games scheduled for last weekend, but rain got the better of both teams and postponed the final two games.

Elijah Smith, Thomas Delgadillo, and Zak May each drove in a trio of runs in the victory.  Delgadillo had a banner day, finishing 4-for-6 with three runs scored as well.

Ben Kaser (1-0) recorded the victory for the Urban Knights.  He hurled five innings and allowed four runs (three earned) on six hits.  He struck out just one.

Academy of Art finished just one game under .500 last season at 24-25.  The Urban Knights opened 2018 with a four-game series against Central Washington.  The Wildcats took three games in the series.

SCOUTING STANISLAUS STATE
The Warriors are 2-0 on the young season with a pair of victories over Holy Names on February 1.  Last season, they finished with a record 22-28.

In their first game, Alexis Paz drove in three runs on three hits.  Jacob Garcia brought in a pair of runs in the 9-2 victory.  The Warriors won 15-5 in game two.  Dalton Seymour and Michael Wyatt drove in four runs each.

Tyler Murphy (1-0) went six innings in game one.  He allowed two unearned runs, two hits, and struck out seven hitters en route to the win.  Ryan Tinsley (1-0) picked up the win in relief in game two.  He tossed two innings of no-hit relief, while striking out a three.  Chase Wheatcroft (1) earned the elusive three-inning save.

THE WILDCATS
Mitch Lesmeister, Justin Hampson, and Jaden Hassell return to the lineup for Desi Storey in 2019.

Hampson compiled a .327 average in 2018.  He added eight doubles, three triples, and one homerun.  Hampson also drove in 25 runs.

Lesmeister hit .294 in freshman campaign with two homeruns and 18 runs batted in.  Hassell hit .292 and drove in 20 runs.

Connor Stevenson returns on the bump after making 12 starts a season ago.  The righty posted a 5-6 record with an earned run average of 4.40 in 75.2 innings.  Stevenson struck out 53 hitters.
