ELLENSBURG, Wash. — The Central Washington University women's rugby team hosts the Seattle Saracens on Saturday.

MATCH INFORMATION
Saturday, January 25
Vs Seattle Saracens
1:00 p.m.
Tomlinson Stadium
Ellensburg, WA

QUOTABLE
"The Saracens are one of the premier outfits in the country and are populated with some of our own alumni," CWU Head Coach Trevor Richards said.  "They are big, strong, and skilled and we will have our hands full in every facet of the game.  After a long break since our last match in November, the coaching staff is eager to see how we have progressed as a team.  The match this weekend will be an excellent test for our athletes and should paint a good picture of what we need to focus on as we head into the bulk of our season.  Needless to say, we are raring to go; a fantastic challenge awaits!"

SCOUTING THE SEATTLE SARACENS
The Saracens lost just once during their fall season, falling to Capilano, 34-12, in the opening fixture of the season.

Seattle bounced back with a 29-10 victory over Abbotsford, before handling Simon Fraser RC, 35-17.  On match day four of the fall campaign, the Saracens captured a home victory over Burnaby Lake, 38-12.  They finished the fall schedule in fourth place at 4-1 and just one point behind third place Abbotsford.

Among the Saracens' roster are a handful of Central Washington alumni.  Making an appearance for the Saracens this weekend will be Jenny Johnson and Leah Ingold.

LAST TIME OUT
Central played just one fixture during the fall, falling to Life 46-32. Olivia Kauahi, Haley Abeyta, Mikayla Roberts, and Bianca Ortiz-Pallen each tallied a try, while Sui A'au recorded a pair.  Roberts knocked through one conversion in the loss.

"The second half showed the tenacity that this team has and they fought back bravely to close Life's lead," Richards said during the fall.  "it was an inspiring performance to say the least and it made our coaching staff happy to see that we were prepared to fight until the final whistle."
