ELLENSBURG, Wash.— The Central Washington women's basketball team took down the Wolves from Western Oregon 74-55, on the back of senior forward
Kassidy Malcolm who posted 22 points in 35 minutes. Tonight's win marks six-straight victories for the crimson and black.

The Wolves opened up this one with confidence, forcing back-to-back turnovers and taking a quick 6-0 lead over the 'Cats.
Tori Maeda found
Kassidy Malcolm in the open corner for three to give the 'Cats their footing. Malcolm split the lane on the following play and the 'Cats found their first lead of the night, 10-8.
Kizzah Maltezo found
Kassidy Malcolm mid-flight for the ally-oop, and the 'Cats closed out the first with a bang, 19-15.
Kizzah Maltezo opened the second quarter with style, leaving the Wolves defender on the ground and draining the open pullup jumper.
The back-to-back electric players elevated the 'Cats confidence, and shots began to fall in favor of the crimson and black.
Tori Maeda put a defender on skates, and
Kizzah Maltezo & "
Sunshine" Valerie Huerta drained back-to-back jumpers from beyond the arc.
Kassidy Malcolm put up a deep jumper from the top of the key, but the Wolves found one final bucket as the half came to a close with 6.5 on the clock. The 'Cats led the Wolves 31-29 after the opening quarters.
The Wolves came out in the second half with fire, finding an open look up and recapturing the lead, 32-31.
A series of turnovers by both sides led to scoring drought. Shots finally fell, and they were in favor of the crimson and black once again. Coming off of the bench,
Kiera Bush and
Samantha Bowman traded layups in the post to extend the lead, 45-34.
Cassidy Gardner fed
Kassidy Malcolm for another deep jumper as time expired. The 'Cats began to runaway with the lead after three, 53-39.
The deep ball continued to reign supreme as
Tori Maeda threw one up from well beyond the arc, draining the bucket as the shot clock expired.
Kizzah Maltezo found a bucket through the lane bouncing off three defenders. Count the and-one, and the 'Cats went to their reserves.
Kiera Bush came off of the bench with an immediate impact, winning multiple battles in the post and knocking down a big layup on the feed from Maltezo.
