ELLENSBURG, Wash - After a disappointing result last weekend, the Central Washington University football team (3-2, 3-1) is set to clash against the Midwestern State Mustangs in Saturday's Homecoming game at Tomlinson Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.

"Homecoming is not quite as sweet unless the football team wins and caps off the week of homecoming the right way," Head Coach
Chris Fisk said. "We're really just trying to keep our head down, focus on our opponent and focus on what we need to do Saturday."

Fans are encouraged to wear black at Saturday's game as the Wildcats will be dressed in their black uniforms.

PREVIEWING MIDWESTERN STATE
The Midwestern State Mustangs are 3-3 overall, 2-2 in Lone Star Conference play. Last Saturday, Oct. 8, the Mustangs lost to West Texas A&M by a score of 38-26.

"Midwestern State is a good football team. We'll have to be at our best and we'll have to win the line of scrimmage to give ourselves a chance," Coach Fisk said.

This year, MSU has beaten Simon Fraser, Eastern New Mexico and Michigan Tech.

Midwestern State is averaging over 35 points per game. The Mustangs put up over 430 yards of offense per game. They have a balanced offense, with their rushing and passing game averaging more than 200 yards per game.

MSU has two quarterbacks play significant time so far this year. Neiko Hollins has thrown 47 completions on 98 attempts for five touchdowns and six interceptions. He has a passer rating of 114.35.

Dillon Sterling-Cole is the other quarterback for the Mustangs. He's thrown 53 completions on 93 attempts for four touchdowns and four interceptions. His passer rating is 112.62.

Devin Cross leads all Mustang rushers. He's got 85 rushes for 547 yards for three touchdowns, an average of 6.4 yards per carry. Trenton Kennedy has 43 attempts for 283 yards and four rushing touchdowns.

The Mustangs have two receivers with over 200 yards receiving on the year (Jayden Moore & Kylan Harrison). Both receivers have one receiving touchdown. Ja'Marzeyea Arvie has 19 catches on the year for 192 yards and two touchdowns.

On the defensive side of the ball, Midwestern State's defense is holding opponents to 28 points per game. Linebacker Justin Guillory leads the defense in tackles (32). Defensive back Tre Jordan leads team in turnovers created with three interceptions. Jordan has also tacked on 23 total tackles.

Jaylin Thompson has 26 tackles and four pass breakups. Melik Owens leads the Mustangs in quarterback hits (5). Dylon Davis has 24 tackles and one interceptions on the year.

GAME HISTORY VS. MSU
The Wildcats are 1-0 all-time against the Mustangs. The only matchup between both teams came last year on Oct. 2 when Midwestern State traveled to Ellensburg ranked #11 in the nation. In a tight battle, the Crimson and Black found a way to upset the Mustangs 30-20.

Quincy Glasper had a massive day for the Wildcats as he threw for 245 yards and two touchdowns. He added 46 yards and one touchdown on the ground.
Darius Morrison led Wildcat receivers with 65 yards and one touchdown.

In a battle between stout defenses, the Western Oregon Wolves shocked Central Washington with a touchdown in the final seconds as the Wildcats fell 14-16 last Saturday, Oct. 8.

JJ Lemming started at QB for the Crimson and Black, logging 18 completions for 167 yards, one touchdown and one interception.
Tre'jon Henderson had another 100-yard performance on the ground along with a rushing touchdown.
