Central Falls to Yellowjackets in Season Finale

Billings, Montana - The Wildcats fell to the Yellowjackets 0-1 in their final game of the season. Central finishes the year 3-11-4 overall and 2-9-3 in conference play.

The first half was back and forth, it started with Bartlow taking a free kick in the 8th minute. Her shot went low right, but Tuva Sallvin reached out to make the save. The Yellowjackets would answer as Kendall McGraw tested Morgan Blankenship with a shot right on target, Blankenship making the save.

In the 33rd minute MSUB's Taylor Ingram unleashed a shot low right, Blankenship produced a big stop to keep the score tied at zero. The last quality chance of the half for the Wildcats came from Vogel who chipped one wide left. MSUB outshot Central 8-3 in the half.

Central started the second half applying a lot of pressure in the midfield. MSUB weathered that pressure and in the 51st minute, Jackie Sharpe fed the ball up the field to a wide-open Sydney Torres who beat Blankenship one on one, burying it in the right corner for her fourth of the season and the lead.

The 'Cats upped the intensity and McBroom had a beautiful shot toward the right post. Tuva Sallvin sprawled making the athletic save. Next, Darcy created a turnover and cut into the box lofting a shot low left, Sallvin was able to get a hand on it, preventing the equalizer.

Central's final two chances came after an MSUB foul right outside of the box. The free kick hit a defender in the wall and careened out of the box. Paige Savage struck one just an inch above the crossbar in the 81st minute. The Yellowjacket's defense kept the Wildcat's attack at bay and secured the victory.
