ANCHORAGE, Alaska. - The Central Washington University volleyball team traveled to Anchorage to take on #6 Alaska Anchorage Saturday night. In front of a record-breaking crowd, the Wildcats fell short to the Seawolves. 3,888 people turned out to watch the contest, and 3,888 people were not disappointed in this back-and-forth action-packed contest. UAA took it in three sets (25-20, 28-26, 25-22).

As a team, the Wildcats logged 41 kills, one ace, and 17 blocks. The 'Cats were led by
Tia Andaya, who fell one dig short of a triple-double. She registered 10 kills, a team-high 19 assists, and added nine digs.
Ashley Kaufman led the team in kills (12).
Emma Daoud-Hebert recorded a team-leading seven blocks, and had 12 points offensively.

Alaska Anchorage took the first set by a score of 25-20. The game was back and forth up until 19-19, when UAA scored six points to CWU's one. The Wildcats were led by Kaufman's five kills and four kills by
Marianna Payne. The 'Cats finished the first set with 15 kills, two blocks, and only a .186 hitting percentage. The Seawolves finished with 14 kills, three aces, and four blocks.

It was back and forth again in the second set as the Seawolves squeezed out a 28-26 win. The game was tied 26-26 before UAA scored twice to win the set, going up 2-0.
Kylie Thorne and Andaya each had four kills and Payne had three for the Wildcats. The team finished with 16 kills, one ace, and six blocks in the second frame.

With it all on the line, the 'Cats never gave up. The third set was another tight frame, where neither team jumped out to a commanding lead. At 22-22, Seawolves rattled off three straight points, taking the third and final set 25-22. Andaya and Kaufman both finish with four kills for the 'Cats. CWU finishes the set with 10 kills, two blocks, and a .100 hitting percentage.

The Wildcats battled were right there, battling alongside the Seawolves for all three sets. The 'Cats come home to face Northwest Nazarene on Saturday, Nov. 12, at 7:00 p.m. The contest will wrap up the regular season and will be the 'Cats final home game of the season.
