Wildcats Handle Geoducks at Home

ELLENSBURG, Wash – The Wildcats had five in double figures en route to their 111-38 victory over Evergreen State Monday night.

QUOTING HEAD COACH BRANDON RINTA
"That was our best offensive performance so far this year. Our ball movement was really good and the 33 assists are reflective of that."

HOW IT HAPPENED
Central Washington started off fast, scoring the first eight points. Matt Poquette converted a layup with 12:18 left in the half, giving CWU the 28-7 advantage. The Wildcats continued their efficient offense highlighted by dunks from Matt Poquette, Colby Gennett, and Camron McNeil. At halftime the 'Cats led 54-19. The Geoducks pushed back to start the second half, but CWU got stops defensively and continued scoring. The Wildcat's explosive offense guided them to the 111-38 victory.

CWU had five players in double digits led by Poquette and McNeil scoring 17 apiece. Mitch Brizee secured the double double with 16 points and 10 boards. The 'Cats shot 69% from the field, made 7 threes, and went 55% from the charity stripe.

In the loss, the Geoduck's leading scorer was Jayden Upshaw with 9 points. Evergreen State shot 27% from the field, sunk a three, and went 1-3 from the line.
