ELLENSBURG, Wash.—Central Washington Athletics today announced four additions to its Athletic Hall of Fame.
Mike Reilly (football),
Samantha Petrich (softball),
Teresa Miller (Meritorious Service) and
John Delaney (Spirit of Central) will be inducted as the 39
th Hall of Fame Class on April 23.
Reilly was originally selected for induction as part of the Hall of Fame Class of 2020 but was unable to attend after the ceremony was canceled that spring and moved to last October due to the CoVID pandemic. Petrich, Miller and Delaney were all selected by the Hall of Fame committee in January.
"This year's class is well balanced and covers the spectrum of people who have made outstanding contributions to the storied history of CWU Athletics," Athletics Director
Dr. Dennis Francois said. "It will be the first time we have an inductee in the new category of Meritorious Service and there is not a better person to recognize than Teresa Miller. It is also great to pay tribute to John Delaney who has been part of the fabric of Wildcat Athletics since he was first a student-athlete in the 60s. The impact he has had on so many facets of our university is remarkable. Then there is All-American Samantha Petrich, one of the best softball student-athletes to grace the field at Central. And last, but certainly not least is football All-American, two-time CFL Grey Cup Champion, and CFL Most Outstanding Player honoree Mike Reilly. It is going to be a great night."
This will be the first full, in-person Hall of Fame event since 2019.
"We are extremely excited about hosting this year's Wildcat Gala and Athletics Hall of Fame. Not only do we have an outstanding class of inductees, but with a two-year reprieve from hosting the full event we are looking forward to getting everyone back in person."
Tickets for the 2022 Wildcat Gala and Athletic Hall of Fame ceremony are $50 in advance and may be purchased by clicking

This year's Gala will be held at the CWU Student Union and Recreation Center Ball Room. Doors will open at 5:00 p.m. with a social, silent auction, and hosted bar, followed by the dinner and program at 6:00 p.m. In addition to the induction ceremonies, this year's event will include a live auction and other philanthropic opportunities to raise funds for student-athlete scholarships.
2022 CWU HALL OF FAME CLASS
Mike Reilly, Football, Kennewick, Wash. (2005-08)
Reilly quarterbacked the CWU football team from 2005-2008. A Harlon Hill Award runner-up, he threw a touchdown pass in all 46 games of his collegiate career, giving him the NCAA all-division record for consecutive games with a touchdown pass. Reilly completed 64 percent of his passes over his four years as a starter for 12,448 yards, 118 touchdowns, and only 40 interceptions. He was named the 2008 Great Northwest Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year after completing 65.2 percent of his passes for 3,706 yards with 37 TDs, six interceptions, and he rushed 103 times for 415 yards. Reilly notched four rushing touchdowns and earned First Team All-GNAC for his efforts.
Reilly recently retired after spending 12 years in Canadian Football League, playing with both the BC Lions (2010-12, 2019-21) and the Edmonton Eskimos (2013-2018). He won Grey Cup championships with each team, capturing Grey Cup MVP honors with Edmonton in 2015, and was named CFL MVP in 2017. Considered one of the top quarterbacks in league history, Reilly finished his CFL career with 34,805 passing yards and 182 touchdowns.
Samantha Petrich, Softball, Chehalis, Wash. (2010-11)
Though she only played at Central for two seasons, Samantha Petrich made an incredible impact on the Wildcats. Petrich helped lead the Wildcats to consecutive GNAC regular-season titles and back-to-back NCAA West Regional appearances. The 2011 GNAC Player of the Year, Petrich was a two-time All-West Region first-team selection and was named the West Region Player of the Year in 2011 by Daktronics after hitting .455 with 13 home runs and 41 RBI in 46 games as the Wildcats went 34-16 overall. That performance earned her a first-team All-America nod.
For her career, Petrich owns a .413 batting average with 29 home runs and 105 RBI. She ranks seventh all-time in GNAC history in batting average, she's second in on-base percentage (.509), second in slugging percentage (.803), and 17th in home runs (29).
John Delaney (Spirit of Central)
Those considered for induction under the Spirit of Central guidelines must have a dedicated and exemplary commitment to Central Washington University Athletics. John Delaney certainly meets those requirements.
A 1974 graduate, Delaney spent more than a decade as the president of the Wildcat Club (now the Wildcat Athletic Association). A former football and track & field student-athlete at Central, Delaney is CEO & President of Centralbanc Mortgage. In 2004 he was honored as a CWU Distinguished Alumni. Delaney has also served on the Foundation Board of Directors and the College of Business Advisory Board.
Teresa Miller (Meritorious Service)
For 21 years, Teresa Miller served the Athletics Department as equipment manager, touching the lives of countless student-athletes. During her time with athletics, Miller also served as a member of grounds crew and field maintenance teams.
Miller was known as much for her rabid support of Wildcat athletics as she was for her work inside the department. For years, her office walls were adorned with photographs and newspaper clippings about the exploits of CWU's teams.
Miller worked at Central form 1986 until her retirement in June of last year. Prior to working in athletics, Miller served as a custodian, while also helping coach softball teams in Ellensburg and Kittitas, before starting the program at Thorp.
