HAYWARD, Calif.— For her efforts in leading Central Washington to its first-ever NCAA Regional victory, Samantha Bowman was named to the West Region All-Tournament team.
Bowman, named D2CCA First Team All-Region, led Central to its first-ever West Regional win against the No. 7-seeded Northwest Nazarene Nighthawks 79-74 last Friday afternoon.
Bowman scored 24 points while grabbing 24 boards, two steals, and handing out five assists in the Wildcats quarterfinal win. The effort marks her fourth 20-20 game of the season.
In the Wildcats semifinal loss to the No. 3-seeded Western Washington Vikings, Bowman scored 12 points alongside 15 rebounds, one steal, and one assist, marking her Division II leading 26th double-double.
Bowman, named First Team All-Great Northwest Athletic Conference, led Central Washington to its first-ever GNAC Tournament Championship just a week ago where she was also named the Tournament's Most Valuable Player.
