TACOMA, Wash.—
Avery Fisk paved way for the Central Washington winning two events as a small squad competed at the Peyton/Shotwell Invitational on the campus of the University of Puget Sound Saturday afternoon.
"We had a pretty successful today with our small group," Central Washington Head Coach
Kevin Adkisson said. "Fisk was a double-winner today, taking some big steps for a successful spring to close out her career. Wise is really showing progress in both the men's 110-meter hurdles and 400-meter dash. Things are looking very good overall. We're looking forward to getting back to it with everyone next week."
Fisk took home wins in both the women's discus throw with a mark of 42.56m (139') and the women's shot put with a mark of 12.91 meters (42'); both marks are a new personal best.
Aiden Wise had a strong day at UPS as well, winning the men's 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.17 seconds alongside a second-place finish in the men's 400-meter dash with a time of 57.56.
Wyatt Franklin rounded out the men's discus and shot pot events for Central. Franklin won the discus with a mark of 43.93 meters (144') and finished third in the shot put with a distance of 12.32 meters (40').
Omar Young found a top-three finish alongside Franklin in the men's discus, taking third with a distance of 38.04 meters (124').
Christopher Hines took second in men's triple jump with a distance of 13.15 meters (43').
Drew Klien grabbed a third-place finish in the men's long jump with a distance of 6.42 meters (21').
Zach Sundt won the men's 1500 with a final time of 4:04.76. Sundt also grabbed a second-place finish in the men's 800 meter with a final time of 1:59.23.
The Wildcats continue their outdoor season at the Hayward Premiere on the campus of the University of Oregon next Friday and Saturday, Apr. 1-2
