Soccer Adds Three for 2022

ELLENSBURG, Wash. – Central Washington University Head Women's Soccer Coach Lindsey Lee is excited to announce a trio of additions for the 2022 season.
 
Cassidie Andrews, Morgan Blankenship, and Sofia Flores join the Wildcats. Andrews and Blankenship are transfers from Columbia Basin College and Rocky Mountain College, respectively, while Flores comes from St. Francis High School in California.
 
Andrews_CassidieAndrews is a 5-foot-6 forward from Ewa Beach, Hawaii. She attended the Hawaii Technology Academy and played for Ka 'Oi Soccer Club. In 2018, Andrews made an appearance at the Hawaii Youth Soccer Association (HYSA) State Cup. She earned honorable mention all-state and HYSA All-Star selections in 2019. Following her graduation, she attended Columbia Basin. During her time at CBC, Andrews tallied 11 goals and eight assists in two full seasons. She earned NWAC All-Star honors in 2021. Andrews notched the game-winning goal over Tacoma CC, advancing Columbia Basin to the NWAC Final Four.
 
Coach Lee on Andrews: "Cassidie has a desire to be successful and is willing to put in the work. Her desire to win, along with her speed and vision of play made it an easy decision for us. She going to make a great addition to the roster."
 Blankenship_Morgan
Blankenship is a 5-foot-7 goalkeeper from Turlock, California. She attended Turlock High School before spending a season at Rocky Mountain College. Blankenship appeared in 19 games for RMC, accumulating 721 minutes in goal. She made 25 saves, including a season-high eight saves at Northwest College. Blankenship earned her first win at Evergreen State College on September 24, 2021.
 
Coach Lee on Blankenship: "Morgan is a beast. As a goalkeeper she brings consistent and steady technic with a great verbal quality. As a person, she's a hoot. We are very excited for her to be here in the fall."
 
11_Flores_SofiaFlores is a 5-foot-10 forward from Sacramento, California. She attended St. Francis Catholic High School. Flores was a two-year varsity player for the Troubadours, helping guide SFCHS to 27 wins in 2021 and 2022 combined. The Troubadours were 15-5-3 last season, winning a Delta League title and advancing a round into the Sac-Joaquin Section Division I draw. She tallied a pair of goals and an assist during her senior season. Flores has also played club soccer for Folsom Lake Surf Premier since 2018. Off the pitch, Flores served as the Student Body Officers (SBO) Vice President.
 
Coach Lee on Flores: "Sofia has a very calm presence on the ball and a quiet confidence. Because of that she can play anywhere up the spine for us. We are very excited about her being a 'Cat and see her fill many roles for us in the fall."
