ELLENSBURG, Wash. - The Central Washington University women's soccer team lost 0-3 to the Western Washington University Vikings on Thursday.
"It was hard game. We have seen three good opponents and we are learning how to handle the GNAC," Head Coach
Lindsey Lee said. "We have some good moments, and we need to see the learnable moments and move forward to Saturday."

The first goal for the Vikings came in the 20th minute when Estera Levinte found Ellie Busik for the opening goal.

The 'Cats struggled to generate offensive opportunities for the rest of the first half, not getting a shot until the 38th minute when
Cassidie Andrews put a shot over the crossbar.

At the break, the Vikings led 1-0. Coming out of halftime, WWU found the back of the net less than a minute into the second half. Morgan Manalili scored her third of the season, assisted by Tera Ziemer.

Nine minutes later, the Vikings tacked on their third and final goal, this time scored by Tera Ziemer and assisted by Claire Potter.

The Wildcat offense had two more shots for the rest of the half, but couldn't beat the WWU defense.

CWU took four shots, two on goal, while the Vikings had 21 shots, 11 on goal.

Andrews led the 'Cats in shots (2).
Jaxyn Farmen and
Teryn Mendez had one each.

Kassandra Jaggard started in goal for the Wildcats, playing the first 51 minutes and recording seven saves.
Mallory Patzer played the final 39 minutes, registering one save.

The Simon Fraser Red Leafs travel to Tomlinson Stadium to take on the Wildcats (1-5-1, 0-3) this Saturday, Sept. 24. Kickoff is scheduled for noon.
"Simon Fraser is another vicious opponent. We need to come in with our heads high and show people who we are and what we stand for," Lee said.
