ELLENSBURG, Wash. - The Central Washington University women's rugby team had eight players earn D1 Elite All-America Honors, the College Association of America (CRAA) announced today.
 
Keia Mae Sagapolu, Tessa Hann, Malia Ili and Ellie Frost were selected for the first team. Winnie Namosimalua, Kerena Tinoisamoa, Mariah Tuitasi and Jennilyn Aquino picked up second-team nods.
 
"What an amazing accomplishment for these student-athletes! They were impressive all season long and continue to put in the work for others. I think they'll be the first to tell you that individual accolades are great, but it doesn't happen without the team," Head Coach Matthew Ramirez said. "Some are just starting their collegiate rugby journey, and some are wrapping up an impressive collegiate campaign. I'm excited to see all of them grow and for others to join. Very proud to see them get the recognition that they earned!"
 
Hann, a junior loose forward, led the 'Cats in tries (9). Sagapolu, a senior prop, recorded four tries of her own. This is Hann and Sagapolu's second time being named to the D1 Elite All-America First Team.
 
Ili and Frost were fantastic in their first seasons as Wildcats. Ili picked up steam down the stretch and logged all six of her tries in the final three games of the season.
 
For Namosimalua, Tinoisamoa, Tuitasi and Aquino, this is their first time being named an All-American as they helped guide the Crimson and Black to a 4-3 regular season record.
