PHOENIX – The Central Washington Wildcats (2-1) traveled down to the Grand Canyon State and came away with a big win over the Grand Canyon Antelopes (1-2) by a 79-0 score late Saturday morning from the GCU Track/Practice Soccer Field.
"The team put in a complete performance," CWU Head Women's Rugby Coach Matt Ramirez said. "Our finishes came in and upped the pace which is exactly what we asked of them."
The Wildcats had 10 different players complete a try in the game.
Winnie Namosimalua,
Tessa Hann, and
Lilly Thomas all contributed two tries apiece.
Kai Brandt-Templeton,
Jessica Postle,
Shaylee Coulter-Fa'amafu,
Vivianne Wright,
Lauren DiPasquale,
Faiane Eteuini, and
Elise Norris all converted one try apiece.
Brandt-Templeton had seven successful conversions of her 13 attempts in the game.
"It was a great reward after an intense week of prep," Ramirez said. "Recovery is the name of the game now."
The Wildcats will take a break from traveling when they host the Lindenwood Lady Lions (2-1) in a 1:00 p.m. matchup on Saturday, October 28 from Tomlinson Stadium.
