ELLENSBURG, Wash. – The Central Washington women's rugby team (2-2) will wrap up their fall season with a matchup against the Boise State Broncos (5-1) at noon on Sunday, November 5
th from Tomlinson Stadium.
The Wildcats are looking to build off of a solid performance against the defending D1 Elite Champions, Lindenwood last Saturday. The Wildcats fell 25-12 to the Lady Lions.
The Wildcats had a big day from
Jessica Postle who had both tries for the crimson and black with
Kai Brandt-Templeton making a conversion. The Wildcats also saw strong performances from
Jah Taele,
Maleena Mero, Lauren DiPaquale,
Noelle Inverso,
Mariah Tuitasi, and
Alexandria Ma'ae.
The Wildcats will look to stay undefeated against the Broncos, having won three times over BSU already. During the fall season last year the Wildcats defeated the Broncos from Tomlinson 107-0. The Wildcats travelled to Boise to participate in the Fools Gold 7's Tournament in the spring and the Wildcats finished the day 2-0 against the Broncos winning 42-0 to start the tournament and then 39-0 to win the tournament championship.
The Broncos are off to a hot 5-1 start and are ranked 10
th in the nation in the National Collegiate Rugby Division I Coaches Poll this week. The Broncos started their season going 1-1 with a 17-15 victory over Montana before a 55-7 setback to Montana State. They then went on to post a 26-0 victory over Idaho followed by a 62-0 victory over the College of Idaho. BSU has since posted an 87-15 victory over Southern Utah and an 86-0 victory over Oregon State.
The Wildcats will prepare for their spring schedule that starts on March 2
nd with a rematch at Life University at 11:00 a.m.
