MONMOUTH, Ore. - The Central Washington women's basketball team fell in the regular season finale on the road at Western Oregon by a 72-83 setback.
Samantha Bowman led all scores with 29 and rebounds with 17.

"Credit WOU on coming out, playing hard, and out executing us. They out worked us and played like they wanted it more. It's hard to learn lessons at this time of the year, but we need to fail forward and be better for the conference tournament."
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Wolves scored the opening points of the game and never looked back stymieing the Wildcats offense to 12 points in the first quarter.
- Princy Paaluhi-Caulk continued her tear of the Wildcats into the second quarter as the Wolves built up multiple double-digit leads with a last second three-pointer put the Wolves up 41-27 at the half.
- The Wildcats and Wolves came out of the half with both squads going shot for shot until the end of the quarter when the 'Cats finall brought the Wolves lead down to single-digits before another last second three by the Wolves put them up 60-48 into the final 10 minutes.
- Huerta came into the final 10 minutes on a mission, scoring the first eight points of the quarter, bringing the game to a 60-56 WOU lead with eight minutes left, but unfortunately the Wolves kept responding, never letting the 'Cats within four-points onto the 83-72 victory for WOU.
STATS FROM THE GAME:
- Bowman led all scores and rebounds with 29 points and 17 boards on the afternoon.
- Bowman added on two blocks and three steals.
- Huerta added on 24 points.
- Bowman led the Wildcats with six assists.
- Claire Heitschmidt added on eight points off the bench.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- This was the second meeting this season between the two squads with the Wildcats coming out on top 69-56 at Ellensburg High School back on December 1st.
- This was the 40th meeting since the 2002 season between the two squads with the Wildcats holding the 29-11 advantage.
