CARSON, Calif. – Samantha Bowman was named to the West Region All-Tournament for helping lead the Wildcats to the postseason and leading the 'Cats in their close first round loss to regional runners-up Cal State San Marcos.
This is the second-straight season that Bowman landed on the West Region All-Tournament team after helping guide the Wildcats to their first ever NCAA tournament win a season ago.
Bowman was named the D2CCA West Region Player of the Year and kept that title heading into the tournament by posting 25 points, 16 rebounds, four assists, three blocks, and one steal in the sole tournament game for the Wildcats.
In the game against CSUSM, Bowman tied for the lead in the NCAA Division Two statistical leader in double-doubles with her 26
th on the season.
Bowman was also named the Most Valuable Player in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference. She also broke the Central Washington women's basketball record for points in a single season with 665 points this past season, as well as breaking the GNAC record for most rebounds in a single career with 1,219. She also broke a GNAC single game record for rebounds this season against Whitman back on December 17
th with 31 rebounds, and set a new GNAC Tournament single game record for points with 40 against Simon Fraser in the opening round of the GNAC Tournament.
