PROVO, Utah – The Central Washington University Women's Rugby Team (2-0) traveled to Utah and defeated the BYU Cougars 53-24 late Saturday morning from Helaman Field on the BYU campus.
"A solid team win today," CWU Head Women's Rugby Coach Matt Ramirez said. "We always have the highest respect for the BYU squad and coaching staff. True to form, they put the pressure on in the first half and got us out of sorts. We had some big performances help lead the way in the second and we got settled back in and found the try line a few times. The backline stepped up for us, found space with kicks, and finished strong. Time to recover and prepare on a short week for the next one."
Jessica Postle put CWU on the board just seven and a half minutes into the match, powering her way to the try line to jumpstart the 'Cats 20-10 halftime lead. The crimson and black kept the scoring party going in the second half seeing
Merary Ulloa-Uribe and
