ELLENSBURG, Wash. – The Central Washington University Wildcats men's basketball team (3-2) travels to San Diego this week for the Point Loma Nazarene University Tournament, taking on the Vanguard University Lions (3-0) on Friday, Nov 29, and the hosts #13 Point Loma Nazarene University Sea Lions (6-1) on Saturday, Nov 30.

PREVIOUSLY FOR THE 'CATS
The Wildcats won both games this past week in the GNAC-PacWest Crossover, defeating the Jessup University Warriors 85-63 on Nov 22, and achieving a comeback win against the Westmont College Warriors 74-72 on Nov 23.
The 'Cats were led by
Garrett Anderson, who scored 42 points overall for 21 points per game, including a 39-point performance against Jessup, and
Jordan Clark, scoring 35 total points for 17.5 points per game. Clark also led in shooting, going 13-20 for a .650 percentage.
Cavin Holden led the team in assists with eight total, and
Maverick Sanders led in rebounds with 13 boards.
ABOUT THE LIONS
Vanguard has started its season as good as it could, going 3-0 and winning each contest by double-digits. The Lions defeated La Sierra 87-71, San Francisco State 84-60, and Cal State LA 90-74.
The Lions are currently led in points by Anthony Tello, who has scored 68 total points for 22.67 points per game. Leonard Turner leads in shooting, going 14-22 for a .636 percentage, and Jackson Larsen leads in rebounds with 20 total boards. Bryson Metz leads the Lions in assists with 12, and Aibigho Ujadughele leads in steals with 12 total.
The Wildcats and Lions tip off from Golden Gymnasium on Nov 29 at 4:30 p.m.
ABOUT THE SEA LIONS
Point Loma began its season very successfully, going 6-1 and defeating three ranked opponents in then #22 Fort Lewis, #19 Florida Southern, and #12 Saint Martin's. The Sea Lions' only loss was to then #11 Cal State San Bernardino 76-65 on Nov 16. Since then, PLNU has won two games coming into the weekend's tournament.
The Sea Lions are led by Zackry Paulsen with 96 points for an average of 13.7 points per game. Luke Haupt leads PLNU in shooting, going 31-58 for a .534 percentage, and also leads in rebounds (39) and steals (13). Haupt and Coby Barnes share the assist lead with 20 each, and Wynton Brown leads the Sea Lions in blocks with 10 total.
Central and Point Loma face off on Nov 30 from Golden Gymnasium at 4:00 p.m.
