Wildcats Kick Off 2024-25 Season Hosting CCAA/GNAC Crossover

ELLENSBURG, Wash. - The #15 Central Washington University men's basketball team officially starts their season by hosting the CCAA-GNAC Crossover in Nicholson Arena over the weekend. Western Oregon will join CWU to represent the GNAC against #14 Cal State San Bernardino and Cal State Monterey Bay from the CCAA.  

WEEKEND SCHEDULE 

Friday, Nov. 8 
Western Oregon vs. Cal State Monterey Bay at 5:15 p.m. 
#15 Central Washington vs. #14 Cal State San Bernardino at 7:30 p.m. 

Sunday, Nov. 10 
Western Oregon vs. #14 Cal State San Bernardino at 11:00 a.m. 
# 15 Central Washington vs. Cal State Monterey Bay at 1:00 p.m. 

TOURNAMENT PARKING INFORMATION

Friday's games will occur during Campus Parking Enforcement hours of operation. Due to that, patrons will need a guest parking pass if you don't already have a CWU pass in order to park in the paved parking lots closest to Nicholson Arena (Lots Q-14 and S-10). The dirt parking lot by Tomlinson Stadium is free to park (Lot X-12) as well as free parking along East 18th avenue.

PREVIOUSLY FOR THE 'CATS
The Wildcats had one exhibition match when they took on the Pacific Lutheran University Lutes on Saturday, Nov 2 when they defeated the Lutes 85-61 in the Nicholson Arena.

The 'Cats see the return of a sophomore class that was instrumental in the team's championship season that carried them to the second round of the NCAA playoffs. Top returners include Bradley SwillieMaverick SandersJordan ClarkCavin Holden, and Mitch Brizee. Also joining the team are several transfers including Kobe ParlinCalvin Sisk, and Garrett Anderson.

ABOUT THE COYOTES 
The Coyotes have already started their season playing in the Canadian Tip-Off Classic at Simon Fraser University. CSUSB went 2-1 in the tournament, losing to Saint Martin's University on Friday, Nov 1. The Coyotes then defeated Simon Fraser on Saturday, Nov 2, and Western Oregon on Sunday, Nov 3. 

The Coyotes top scorer is Giordan Williams, who's scored 50 points in their first three games for a 16.7 ppg. Charlie Henderson leads the team in three-point shooting with 6 for an average of 2.0 per game. Leading the team in steals and assists is Evan Oliver, who has recorded 9 steals for an average of 3.0 per game, and 13 assists for an average of 4.3 per game. 

Tip-off between the Wildcats and Coyotes on Friday is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. 

ABOUT THE OTTERS 
The Otters have not played a game this season. They went 7-20 overall this past season and 5-17 for conference play. Monterey Bay sees four returners this season. Jaden Tengan led the returners in scoring and assists with 335 points last season with 12.4 ppg and 59 assists. Tengan and Joey Bilello lead in rebounds with 79 and 72, respectively. Javon Johnson leads the team in three-point shooting percentage with 44.8 percent and steals with 17 total. 

Tip-off for the Wildcats and Otters on Sunday is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
