LACEY, Wash. – Central Washington women's soccer team (1-11-5, 0-10-4 GNAC) suffered a 2-1 defeat against Saint Martin's University (3-13-3, 3-8-3 GNAC) on Saturday afternoon.

FIRST HALF
In the 5
th minute, Eve Charles rifled a shot in the back of the net to give SMU the lead. CWU was outshot seven to four as they created offensive opportunities going forward.
Danika Galbraith made two crucial saves to keep the 'Cats in the game. In the 23
rd minute,
Casey Park attempted a shot on goal that went above the crossbar. In the 29
th minute,
Carmen Anderson attempted a shot that went wide left. In the 40
th minute, Payton Aselton of Saint Martin's was shown a yellow card for a foul in the defensive half.
SECOND HALF
In the 57
th minute,
Emily Darcy rifled a shot on goal that was saved by goalkeeper
Mallory Patzer. In the 64
th minute,
Shannah Mellick found the breakthrough for CWU as she placed the ball in the back of the net. SMU outshot the 'Cats eight to four.
Kass Jaggard made two saves to keep the Wildcats in the game. In the 82
nd minute, Alyssa Carapia scored the go-ahead goal on an assist from Taylor Copeland as she placed the ball in the bottom corner of the net. Darcy led CWU with two shots on goal.
