Hannah Stires and
Emma Daoud-Hebert have received AVCA All-American Honorable Mentions, the AVCA announced today.

"They both had outstanding seasons statistically, and they were instrumental in our team's success. Emma led the nation in blocks two years ago and to lead in hitting this year is an incredible accomplishment. I am excited that Hannah got this recognition after being one of the best to ever do it here at CWU."

Stires, a fifth-year senior out of Nine Mile Falls, Wash., finished her career seventh in GNAC history with 1,988 digs and 10th with 4.93 digs per set and led the conference with 5.66 digs per set this season. Her efforts earned her the GNAC Defensive Player of the Year honors this season. She reached double digits in digs in all of her 21 matches this season, including a season-high 33 on Nov. 9 against Alaska Fairbanks. Stires garnered all-region recognition for the first time in her career, earning first-team recognition from the AVCA and second-team from the D2CCA.

Daoud-Hebert, a fifth-year senior out of Woodinville, Wash., picked up her third straight AVCA All-American Honorable Mention. She shattered the GNAC single-season record for hitting percentage, finishing the season at .450 to lead all players in NCAA Division II. Daoud-Hebert also ranked third in the GNAC with 1.15 blocks per set and was fourth in GNAC history with 488 career total blocks. In addition to the All-American accolades, she earned first-team all-region for the third consecutive season.
