ELLENSBURG, Wash. – Central Washington men's basketball beat #21 Saint Martin's 92-86 in Nicholson Arena on Thursday night.
Anjaylo Lloyd led the 'Cats upset bid scoring 20 points, but it was a group effort as four other Wildcats scored in double figures. With the win, the Wildcats secured a spot in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Tournament held here in Ellensburg from March 7
th – 9
th.

NOTABLE STATS
- Jello led the 'Cats offense, scoring 20 points.
- Samaad Hector and Bradley Swillie each put up 16 points, Jordan Clark added 12 points, and Colby Gennett had a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
- In the second half, Central Washington shot 70.83% from the floor, made six threes, and went 17-24 from the free-throw line.
- Kyle Greeley spearheaded the Saints offense and scored a game-high 21 points in the loss.

FIRST HALF
- Jello Lloyd and Samaad Hector gave the 'Cats an early 5-0 lead. Tyke Thompson's three knotted the game up at seven. Both teams traded blows and reached a tie at 19, with 9:26 remaining.
- The Saints went on a 10-2 run capped off by Kyle Greeley's layup, which gave Saint Martin's the 35-27 advantage.
- The Wildcats responded with an 8-2 run of their own to close out the half. Colby Gennett made a strong layup as time expired which gave the 'Cats momentum going into the break.
- At the half, Saint Martin's led 37-35.
SECOND HALF
- Central Washington got hot in the second half. The 'Cats shot 70.83% from the floor, nailed six threes, and went 17-24 from the charity stripe.
- Lloyd got the ball on the fast break and lobbed it up to Hector, who threw down a thunderous dunk, which got the crowd back in it.
- Five minutes in, the 'Cats found another gear on offense and went on a 15-2 run. Jordan Clark's triple and Gennett's layup gave Central Washington the eight-point advantage, 62-54 with just under eleven minutes remaining.
- Kyle Greeley converted a layup to cut the Saints deficit back to four. Saint Martin's couldn't find an answer for the 'Cats hot shooting as threes from Gennett and Camron McNeil extended CWU's lead to 14, 74-60 with 6:45 left in the game.
- Saint Martin's made a late charge. Thompson hit a three that shrunk the margin to eight and Jaden Nielsen Skinner nailed a jumper to bring the Saints within four.
- Bradley Swillie drove into the paint and converted a layup which increased Central Washington's lead back to seven. The Wildcats made their late free throws to complete the upset, pick up their 12th home victory, and clinch a spot in next week's Great Northwest Athletic Conference Tournament.
