6 Wildcats Named CSC Academic All-District

ELLENSBURG, Wash. – Six Central Washington University Football student-athletes were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Football Team, CSC announced Tuesday.
 
Chase Coalson, Darrell Duckett, Axel Isackson, and Kennedy McGill all were named to the All-District Team for the first time while Slade Edwards and Tyler Flanagan were named to the All-District Team for the second-straight year. Both Edwards and Flanagan qualified to move on to possibly be selected to the CSC Academic All-America Teams that will be announced on January 28. Flanagan was tabbed as a Second Team Academic All-American last season.
 
The 2024 Academic All-District Football Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC), recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. To be nominated, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically and a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his current institution.
 
Coalson currently owns a 3.54 GPA in Exercise Science. The Honorable Mention All-LSC member finished as the third-leading tackler for CWU with 49 total tackles, 19 solo and 36 assisted. He also finished third on the in tackles for loss with five for a total loss of 13 yards with 1.5 coming as sacks. He added one pass breakup.
 
Duckett has a 3.61 GPA in Exercise Science and has been a staple along the offensive line since transferring to CWU last season. The Honorable Mention All-LSC member was crucial in helping the 'Cats have one of the top rushing attacks in NCAA Division II as the crimson and black finished with 3,090 total yards on the ground in 2024.
 
Edwards is earning his degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology and has a 3.81 GPA. Along with Duckett, Edwards has been a consistent force for the O-line for the 'Cats the past few seasons. Edwards has been recognized as one of the best centers in NCAA Division II having been named a Don Hansen All-American, D2CCA Super Region 4, LSC Offensive Lineman of the Year, and First Team All-LSC for his hard work during the 2024 season.

Flanagan in 3.91 GPA in his master's in occupational safety & health management. Flanagan has been recognized as a member of the D2CCA Super Region 4, LSC Offensive Back of the Year, and First Team All-LSC. He's had another outstanding season to conclude his Wildcat career having his second-straight 1,000-yard season and finishing tied at the top of the LSC in rushing touchdowns with 14 in 2024. He also had 12 receptions for 101 yards.
 
Isackson owns a 3.72 GPA in Business Administration. The Honorable Mention All-LSC wrapped up his career starting all 12 games in 2024. He had one solo tackle in the season which came at Texas A&M-Kingsville. Isackson played a critical role along the Wildcat offensive line that was in the top 15 in NCAA Division II in sacks allowed, with opponents only getting 11 sacks the whole season.
 
McGill has a 3.93 in Sport Management. The Honorable Mention All-LSC member had a stellar first season as the full-time starter proving to be a dual-threat quarterback. He threw for 1,724 yards with 15 touchdowns and only five interceptions while throwing for a 60.36 completion percentage on the season. McGill also led the 'Cats with 1,206 rushing yards while adding 12 touchdowns on the ground.
