RICHARDSON, Texas – Central Washington University junior wide receiver
Samaje Featherstone was named the Lone Star Conference Special Teams Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday morning.
"We are proud of Samaje and all of his teammates that paved the way for him to be highlighted as the Special Teams Player of the Week," CWU Head Football Coach
Chris Fisk said.
Featherstone only needed one kick return to make a major impact. Midwestern State drilled a long field goal with 18 seconds left before halftime. Featherstone had different plans, returning Kohen Maroney's kickoff 85 yards to the house with seven seconds remaining before the half and with
David Weber's PAT, sent the 'Cats to the halftime break up 42-13. Featherstone also added one reception for 12 yards early in the game.
Featherstone and the 8th-ranked 'Cats are back in The 'Burg one final time this regular season as they host 16th-ranked Angelo State (6-2, 4-2 LSC) for Military Appreciation and Senior Day. The crimson and black clash with the Rams on Saturday, November 1 at 6:00 p.m. from Steve Hertling Field at Tomlinson Stadium.
