PREVIOUSLY FOR THE 'CATS
Central had a strong showing last week in its ventures to Billings, Mont., where the 'Cats swept the MSUB Yellowjackets. CWU then traveled to Seattle, Wash. and narrowly defeated the Seattle Pacific Falcons in a five-set thriller that saw the Wildcats come from behind to win set four and then run away with the decisive set five victory to bring the Crimson and Black to a 4-1 GNAC record.
Â
The Wildcats found huge success offensively behind this week's GNAC volleyball offensive player of the week
Ella Bines, who recorded 29 kills, 30 pts, and a .512 hitting percentage over the course of the week.
Scottie Ellsworth led the team at the net with seven total blocks while also contributing 24 total kills to offense, and
Brooklyn Parker held down the defensive efforts with 37 total digs.
Kayleigh-Shay Chang fed the offense with 52 total assists, while
Addie Allen followed with 47 assists. Chang also led from the service line with four aces.

ABOUT THE WOLVES
Western Oregon has had a tough season–only winning one game so far overall, when the Wolves defeated Menlo College 3-1 on Sep. 12 in the Gator Classic in San Francisco, Calif. Since then, WOU has lost six straight matchups with a 4-18 set record entering this week.
Â
Maela Honma leads the Wolves on both the offense with 158 kills, and defense with 140 digs. Chloe Asciutto leads at the net with 33 total blocks, while Samantha Darby leads in assists with 331. Kealani Rosa leads at the service line with 21 aces.
Â
The Wildcats and Wolves hit the court on Thursday, Oct. 9. First serve from Nicholson Arena is set for 7:00 p.m.
Â
ABOUT THE SAINTS
The Saints entered the season with a strong opening–going 7-1 in their nonconference slate. The GNAC slate has not been as fortunate to SMU with a 2-3 conference record entering this week. The Saints did have a strong showing last Saturday when they swept then-#19 Western Washington at home. SMU will have a chance to even its conference record on Thursday when it takes on Northwest Nazarene before facing Central on Saturday.
Â
The Saints are led by Emily Garten offensively with 168 kills. Garten also leads in service aces with 18, while Sophie Fast keeps the offense rolling with 408 assists. Hanna Ligons holds guard at the net with 74 blocks, while Tiffany Lam runs the defense with 182 digs.
