ELLENSBURG, Wash. – The Central Washington University men's basketball team (2-1) heads to Seaside, Calif., this week for the West Region Crossover, as the Wildcats take on Menlo College Friday evening and then the host team: Cal State Monterey Bay on Saturday.

PREVIOUSLY FOR THE 'CATS
Central enters this week at 2-1 after taking part in the CCA DII Canadian Tip-Off Classic two weeks ago in Langley, B.C. The Wildcats performed well against their first two foes–defeating Cal State San Bernardino on Oct. 31, and Central Oklahoma on Nov. 1. CWU's final match of the week ended in a tough loss to St. Edwards that saw the Hilltoppers take advantage of the Centrals turnovers–scoring 28 points off of turnovers, specifically.
Jordan Clark leads the 'Cats in scoring with 47 total points, followed by
Chae Haynes with 30. Clark also leads in assists alongside
Bradley Swillie with six each, while Haynes leads the team in rebounding with 21 total boards.
Demetrus Johnson II and Garret Marrs lead in takeaways with three steals each, while
Calvin Sisk and Haynes guard the hoop with two blocks each.
ABOUT THE OAKS
Menlo College opens the season against the Wildcats this Friday. The Oaks had an overall record last season of 11-15, while going 7-13 in the PacWest.
The Oaks see four returners from last year's squad, including Nick High, who led among returners with 144 total points, 84 rebounds, and 14 blocks. Quentin Thompson returns after shooting .486 from the field with 134 points. Jonathan Moxie recorded 103 points while also recording 24 total steals.
The Wildcats and Oaks hit the court on Friday, Nov. 14. Tip-off from the Kelp Bed is set for 5:30 p.m.
ABOUT THE OTTERS
CSU Monterey Bay also opens its season this week in the West Region Crossover. The Otters had a tough season last year–going 6-21 overall, and 3-19 in the CCAA. One of the Otters' wins came early in the season over CWU in Ellensburg.
The Otters see eight total returners with seven seeing the court last season. Among the returners is top-scorer Jaden Tengan, who recorded 345 total points for an average of 13.3 points-per-game, and a team-leading 70 assists. Alongside him is Joey Bilello, who led in shooting–going 78-174 for a .448 percentage. Michael Mora returns with 110 total rebounds as well as 19 blocks, while Chol Deng leads returners in takeaways with 23 steals.
The Wildcats take on the Otters at the Kelp Bed on Saturday, Nov. 15. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
