ELLENSBURG, Wash. – The Central Washington University men's basketball team (3-2) opens the home slate of the season this week–taking on the Chico State Wildcats (1-0) on Friday, Nov. 21, then hosting Walla Walla (0-5) on Saturday, Nov. 22.

PREVIOUSLY FOR THE 'CATS
Central split its time last week in the West Region Crossover–defeating Menlo College 80-68 on Friday evening in the first-ever meeting between the two schools. However, the Wildcats fell in a close battle to Cal State Monterey Bay 88-92 on Saturday.
The 'Cats were offensively-led by
Bradley Swillie with 42 points, while
Jordan Clark was right behind him with 41. Swillie also led with five steals, followed by Clark and
Jamari Harris with four each. Clark led with nine assists, while
Eli Williams recorded six.
Calvin Sisk played a huge part under the hoop with 11 total rebounds, including six offensive boards, and Williams and
Garrett Marrs followed with 10 boards each.
Chae Haynes led in shooting–going 7-12 for .583 from the field. Overall, CWU shot .473 over the course of the weekend.
ABOUT THE WILDCATS
Chico State started its season last week, as the Wildcats defeated Seattle Pacific 80-71 on Saturday. Chico State has four returners in Ned Joyce, Max Walters, Taylor Keating, and Isaiah Brewington. Walters and Brewington recorded four and five points, respectively, last week for the Wildcats.
Lead Chico State in scoring is Cortevious Taylor with 27 points, followed by Chris Holley with 21. Jeremiah Dargan leads in shooting–going 7-14 for .500 from the field, while also leading under the net with 11 total rebounds. Three players lead in steals with Holley, Dargan, and Walters recording one takeaway each. Dargan and Brewington each recorded a block.
The battle of the Wildcats commence on Friday, Nov. 21. Tip off from Nicholson Arena is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
ABOUT THE WOLVES
Walla Walla has had a tough start to its season with a 0-5 record. The Wolves had a close battle in their most recent game against Willamette last Saturday–losing 84-90.
The Wolves are led by Reese Snellman with 69 points, followed by Jordan Jackson with 66. Kieran Clasen leads from the field–going 18-27 for a .667 percentage. Chike Ezeonu leads the team under the hoop with 33 total rebounds, including 10 offensive boards, while Zeke Virtudes lead in assists with 18 total. Rounding out the defensive leaders are Jackson, who leads with 19 steals, while Clasen leads with 12 blocks.
The Wildcats and Wolves take the court on Saturday, Nov. 22. Tip off from Nicholson Arena is set for 7:00 p.m.
