CWU Head Football Coach Chris Fisk Selected as Super Region 4 Coach of the Year

WACO, Texas – Central Washington University Head Football Coach Chris Fisk was named the AFCA Division II Super Region 4 Coach of the Year, announced by the American Football Coaches Association Tuesday morning. The AFCA honors five coaches in each of the five combined divisions of the NCAA and the NAIA as its Regional Coaches of the Year.

"Our coaching staff is honored to be recognized as the region 4 staff of the year," Fisk said. "I view it as a staff award and could not be in this position without the best D2 staff in the country. It is tremendous recognition of the assistant coaches and student athletes in our program, and great recognition of the culture we have built here in Ellensburg. Go Cats!"

Now in his seventh season as the Head Coach at CWU, this is Coach Fisk's first time he has been honored by the AFCA with a Regional Coach of the Year selection. He now joins John Zamberlin (2002) and Ian Shoemaker (2017) as CWU coaches to garner All-Region Coach of the Year.

Under Fisk's guidance, CWU has posted a 48-22 record and has made it three-consecutive NCAA Division II Playoff appearances and four in the past five years. They made a top-five appearance in the AFCA Coaches Poll to end the regular season after accumulating a 10-1 regular season record.
