Wildcats Break Losing Streak and Defeat Saints 11-7 in First Game; Second Game Halted Until Sunday Morning

LACEY, Wash. – The Central Washington University baseball team (6-6, 1-0 GNAC) found the right chances and began GNAC play with a win over Saint Martin's University (0-12, 0-1 GNAC) 11-7 in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader. The second game was halted due to a lack of light at Saints Field and will continue with the score tied at 2-2 in the ninth innings at 10:30 a.m.

Quoting Head Coach Desi Storey:
"The guys did what we needed to do to win game one; made some mistakes, but Daniel battled, and Kellen was really good, and we got some timely hits, and game two was more of a pitcher's duel. I thought John threw excellent, and their guy kind of kept us at bay. We had a base running mistake that would've given us an extra run, so we may not have had to go extra innings, but it is what it is. The guys battled back and tied it up, Max had a clutch home run so now we got to finish it tomorrow."
