ELLENSBURG, Wash. – The Central Washington University Women's Rugby Team (2-2) will travel to The Peach State for a clash with rival Life (13-0) on Saturday, March 15 at 7:00 a.m. PST from the Lupo Family Field in Marietta, Ga. You can watch Saturday's match on FloRugby with a subscription.
"This is a new week and a new opportunity to take on a great side," CWU Head Women's Rugby Coach Matt Ramirez said. "There were a lot of learnings in our first hit out of the spring and are looking forward to heading south and applying those lessons to play our game. The team has been preparing well and working through the details and matchups."
The Wildcats will look to bounce back after falling to Life back in the fall portion of the season by a 52-24 score in Ellensburg. Last week the 'Cats fell to Lindenwood in a home matchup by a 41-15 score that saw scores from
Jessica Postle and
Winnie Namosimalua, but a strong second half propelled the Lions to victory.
The Life Running Eagles have been dominant this season with a 13-0 record with 10 of those games holding their opponents to less than 10 points including seven shutouts. They've had five matches so far this spring with their last match being a 29-24 road victory at Lindenwood on March 1 after holding on from a late 14-point surge by the Lions in the final 20 minutes of the contest.
Life has the 15-2 series lead all-time with the last Wildcat victory coming on March 27, 2021, in a 10-5 score in Marietta.
The 'Cats will be back in action on Saturday, March 29 at 11:00 a.m. for a senior day clash against BYU (3-2) on Steve Hertling Field at Tomlinson Stadium.
