Wildcats Falter in Georgia

MARIETTA, Ga. – The Central Washington University Women's Rugby Team fell in Georgia early Saturday morning to the defending D1A National Champions, the Life Running Eagles by a 47-0 score.
 
The two squads held firm for the opening 10 minutes before the Running Eagles broke through at the 12:30 mark with a try following it up with a successful conversion to make it 7-0 Running Eagles. Six minutes later Life added another try and conversion to make it 14-0. The 'Cats fought their way deep inside the territory of Life but couldn't punch it to the try line as Life added one more before the halftime buzzer to make it 21-0 LU.
 
Life came out of halftime blazing adding another try and conversion eight minutes into the second half to make it 35-0 LU. Again, the 'Cats pinned Life deep in their territory, but the Running Eagles responded with another try to increase their lead to 40-0 with 25 minutes left in the match. Life capped off the game with another try and conversion kick with 20 minutes to go as they cruised to the 47-0 victory.
 
The 'Cats will have a week off to prepare for their senior day clash with the BYU Cougars (3-3) on Saturday, March 29 at 11:00 a.m. from Steve Hertling Field at Tomlinson Stadium in Ellensburg.
